LEEROY
AND THE RATS
BIOGRAPHY
Leeroy
& the Rats enjoy almost legendary status in
many areas throughout the Eastern States of
Australia. Since their inception in 1986 the band
has constantly recorded, toured, performed live
and released their original material
independently, selling thousands of albums at live
gigs, mail order and selected record stores.
The
Rats revolve around singer, songwriter, piano
player Lee "Leeroy"
Hammond, winner of the 1991 Professional Music
Awards Best Songwriter, Leeroy played piano with
the legendary Blues man " Bo Diddley"
through 1981-82-83 and was the driving force
behind the fiercely independent rock/blues band of
the early 80's Rat Salad, from which Leeroy and
the Rats evolved and was managed at one time by TV
personality, Richard Wilkins. Live, the Rats are
well known for their covers of the Doors and Pink
Floyd and perform primarily songs from the 70's
